Hey ya guys. I'm in the middle of designing a fast paced campaign using a fluid, fast and brutal videogame combat system, ala God of War, Darksiders, etc.
I was thinking that, depending on the level of their combo/combat skill, the PCs can have 2-6 attacks chained into a combo. The PC must roll EACH attack in the chain and if one fails, the chain ends and leaves the PC exposed for a second. However, if the PC hits all attacks in the chain, he may roll ONCE more and if it's a crit, can roll for another 2-6 attack combo.
Instead of XP, etc, PC's items, armor, abilities level up.
The setting is they PCs are the new Riders of the Apocalypse, and they must battle through several high level adversaries, old gods, demons, angels, the 7 sins, etc.
Any suggestions are welcome. I will try to update as I sit down later this week and get to fleshing it out. I may even post the campaign on Obsidian Portal.
